Overview

A film made to advertise the Brocklehurst-Whiston mill in Macclesfield, the name of Brocklehurst being "synonymous with all that is best in silk". From the extraction of silk from silkworms, we learn the story behind the production of this fine fabric, and watch as hanks of silk are spun, wound, inspected, tested, dyed, woven and printed, before being packed and dispatched to waiting customers.
