Recruiting for the 5th Essex
High-spirited and eager Essex lads go through their paces in a rush to serve for King and Country.
Overview
High-spirited volunteer infantrymen proudly show off their uniforms and marching skills at an Essex recruiting office in this attractive film, which doubles as propaganda and an illuminating walk-through the early experience of enlistees. As pay-day arrives, a stern-faced officer hands out coins, accepted by some of the new recruits with barely concealed delight.
