The End We Start From
A stunning post-apocalyptic British drama navigating the anxieties of parenthood and the future of the world.
Director: Mahalia Belo
Overview
While a pregnant woman awaits the arrival of her new baby, catastrophic floods start to submerge Britain. The soon-to-be-family’s London home now uninhabitable, the mother, father and baby seek refuge outside of the city. But the disaster is only just beginning. Mahalia Belo and Alice Birch’s adaptation of Megan Hunter’s apocalyptic novel is a haunting yet beautiful survival story, powered by an outstanding, poignant and naturalistic performance by Jodie Comer.
