Overview
Captioned as covering the years 1936 to 1963 this compilation of film shot be the Reverend E.G.T. Simey actually begins four years later with views of the bitterly cold winter of 1940. The Home Guard are then seen parading through Hereford, which is followed by the less formal side of the military typified by scenes of American soldiers dancing with local women in High Town and around Cathedral Close: "Oversexed, overpaid and over here"?
