Mr. Therm's Review No. 4
Stained glass, a pancake race and actors Anthony Quayle and Barbara Jefford feature in this promo from the Gas Council
Overview
This chirpy edition of the Gas Council-sponsored cinemagazine Mr Therm's Review features a ragbag of apparently unrelated subjects, all of which turn out to be tenuously linked to their use of gas. Whether it's power for glass blowing to make new windows for Lincoln's Inn, for the cooker to make pancakes for Olney's annual pancake race, or for the Royal Shakespeare Company's kitchens, Mr Therm has it covered. we
Not one of the more enduring of the numerous postwar cinemagazines, Mr Therm's review ran to a total of 10 editions. The series made a recurring feature of celebrity interviews - in this edition it's actors Anthony Quayle and Barbara Jefford, who discuss the comfort of their new quarters at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford-on-Avon.
