Sudbury Celebrations
The people of Sudbury pull out all the stops to mark King George V's Silver Jubilee with an action packed day of celebrations and festivities for all ages.

Overview
Despite the hard economic times, there was great public rejoicing throughout the United Kingdom and Empire as people paid tribute to a popular King George V and Queen Mary to mark 25 years of his reign. Local newsreel cameras were on hand to record the day's events culminating in a grand processsion of decorated vehicles through the town.
This film records the events throughout the day as the Mayor and local dignatories lead a Service of Thanksgiving then hosted a special lunch for the town's 'Old Folk' . The afternoon saw celebrations continue in fields just outside the town which hosted a Country Fair with rides, fancy dress and Punch & Judy shows for the younger audience. Prizes of silverware were offered to 'Best vehicle' and 'Best shop' decoration which added a friendly but competitive edge to the festivities which must have been a great sight to behold.
