Overview
An exuberant London fruit seller shares the ups and downs of his life story while drawing a crowd to try the oranges. He's one of the personalities met by an Anglia Television reporter out to investigate why people still shop at street markets like this one in Sudbury, Suffolk. He talks to traders and customers as well as Mr Cresswell who has been market superintendent for 40 years. The street theatre in these little interviews captures the continuing appeal of the market.
This sequence with interviews by Peter Marshall was filmed for the 1970s Anglia Television series "About Women", which was presented by Ellis Hill.
