Overview

The first part of this colour film is a dramatised history of the handloom weavers of Wycoller, and their reaction to the new power looms of the Industrial Revolution. In part two, we visit Glen Mills in Colne, at a time when Lancashire was still "humming with activity and industry", to see the technology of the day, and appreciate the modern day co-operation between management and employees.

The preservation of this film was funded by a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.
