Hospital Team in Action

Career opportunities in the 1960s National Health Services

Documentary 1960 16 mins

Overview

Teamwork is the touchstone in this light-touch recruitment film for the still-youthful NHS, sponsored by the Central Office of Information for the Ministry of Health. When a seriously ill small boy arrives in hospital, the combined skills of the hospital staff are mobilised. The diagnosis and treatment of his illness - acute osteomyelitis - highlight the work of nursing staff, radiographer, medical laboratory technicians, pharmacists, dietitian, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, almoner and others, all of whom have a share in bringing about his ultimate recovery.
