Historical Humors
Series of sketches by the Kingston & District Cine Club which offer an amusing twist on historical events
From the collection of:
Overview
Three historic sketches linked by the addition of the "modern touch" to sell to Hollywood. Instead of taking inspiration from the spider, Robert the Bruce squirts it with bug spray. An inattentive King Alfred burns the cakes but saves the day by ordering in from Lyons Baking Company. For the finale, Lady Godiva rides naked through the city but we only see her legs. A peeping filmmaker misloads his cine film and manages to miss the entire event as she passes by!
This film is from the collection of Kingston Heritage Service, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
