Happy in the Morning: A Film Fantasy

Musical performers Henry Hall and his Orchestra hog the limelight in this promotional film, ostensibly for Ascot gas water heaters.

Advert 1938 12 mins Silent

Overview

This bouncy musical short was made to promote Ascot gas water heaters, though you wouldn't know it, with most screen time given over to Henry Hall and his Orchestra. While the musical maestros perform 'The Church Mouse on the Spree' and 'Swinging in Between', cowboy singer Bob Mallin gets in on the act with circus-themed song 'Horsey Horsey'. The heaters seem little more than an afterthought.
