Filey Film July 1937
Fun and games on holiday at the North Yorkshire seaside with the Dean and Street families
Overview
The Dean and Street families don their woolly swimmers for some seaside larks in this wonderful amateur film by Birmingham accountant Harold Street. After building sandcastles and paddling in the sea there's time to venture inland for a spot of fishing and sightseeing. But most captivating are the colour scenes of donkey rides and ice creams on the beach, shot in glorious Kodachrome.
Harold Street was a prolific amateur filmmaker. Several other of his films are also available on BFI Player: Midsummer Madness - An Idiotic Idyll, Borth-y-Gest 1952, and Street Family Film - Ireland 1958.
