Nightbirds
Dark drama about the doomed relationship of two down-and-outers living in the squalid East End of London in the early 1970s.
Drama 1970 78 mins
Director: Andy Milligan
Overview
While living rough on the streets of London’s East End, a young man, Dink (Berwick Kaler) encounters the beautiful Dee (Julie Shaw). Seemingly concerned for Dinks welfare, she invites him to stay with her and the pair soon develop a relationship which oscillates between sexual intimacy and raging jealousy. As tenderness gives way to cruelty, their relationship becomes consumed by darkness. An astonishing film by the director of The Body Beneath.
This title is also available on DVD/Blu-ray in the BFI Flipside collection.
