Llanarmon Bathing Pool
Mowing a meadow, damning a river, taking the plunge – it's all happening at Llanarmon yn Iâl!
From the collection of:
Overview
It's haymaking time at Llanarmon-yn-Iâl, and the trusty Fordson tractor now pulls an elevator that was originally hauled by horses. Down at the river Alyn, some seriously muddy damning is underway, before members of the Crawford family and friends cool off in the water using a splendid inflatable ring as the prop of choice – surely more fun than the posh pool featured aspirationally at the end!
Bombs on the Wirral in 1940 forced the Crawfords to relocate to their holiday home in Llanarmon-yn-Iâl, and William H Crawford was a keen amateur filmmaker who portrayed his family and adopted Welsh community with affection.
