Border Weave
Whirring, gliding and twisting machinery produces sumptuous Scottish woollen fabrics, captured in Technicolor by legendary cinematographer Jack Cardiff.
Overview
Lush music and ‘the girl weavers’ of the Scottish borders sweep the viewer on a vivid Technicolor tour of a woollen mill. Legendary cinematographer, Jack Cardiff, was in his element as he captured on film the whirring, revolving, gliding and twisting production processes which generate swathes of sumptuous fabric.
