Director: Chloé Mazlo
Overview
In the 1950s, young Alice leaves Switzerland for Lebanon, a sunny and exuberant country. There, she falls in love with Joseph, a playful astrophysicist who dreams of sending the first Lebanese astronaut into space. Alice quickly finds her place in his family. But after a few years of dolce vita, the civil war interferes with their paradise...
Chloé Mazlo draws on her family's story to create a poetic tale with a lush and ingenious mise-en-scène. A delicate debut feature starring vivacious Italian actress Alba Rohrwacher and Canadian-Lebanese playwright Wajdi Mouawad.
