Glasgow Tram
Unprecedented access to the preparations and final procession of Glasgow's historic trams.
Overview
While the people of Glasgow go about their daily routines, the men of Coplawhill Tram Depot, Pollokshields, prepare their historic fleet of trams for a spectacular final procession. On 4th September 1962 thousands lined the streets to bid farewell to these old friends. As buses begin to outnumber tramcars, the surplus cars in the fleet meet a fiery demise.
Keep an eye out for the many people who can be seen placing a penny on the line in front of the procession. A squashed souvenir of the last day!
