Excellent portrait of post-war rehabilitation services for those who lost limbs in the war, imbued with that Blitz spirit

Government sponsored film 1944 14 mins

Overview

For those “knocked about a bit” by the war – a restrained way of describing those men and women who lost limbs in action or in the Blitz – this government sponsored film outlines the rehabilitation services on offer at Roehampton. The film is directed and written by Roger MacDougall (cousin of Ealing director Alexander Mackendrick) with an emphasis on continued abilities rather than disability, and presented directly by those affected.
