Overview
A high speed pram race through the streets of Tewkesbury was a regular August bank holiday attraction in the Gloucestershire town in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Competitors took the racing (and the dressing up) extremely seriously, charging round the course at break-neck speeds. The adrenaline fuelled event pulled in the crowds with the good townsfolk of Tewkesbury cheering the madness on.
