Who Will Win the Cup?
An appreciative crowd at Ewood Park witnesses Blackburn progress to the FA Cup 4th round with a 3-1 win against Tottenham.
Overview
After a 2-2 draw at White Hart Lane, Tottenham Hotspur travelled up to Ewood Park for the replay against Blackburn Rovers. Although both teams ended the league season in mid-table obscurity, they came into the 3rd round of the FA Cup on a good run of form. Spurs put up a hard fight, but as the Topical Budget newsreel captured, the home crowd got something to cheer about when Blackburn scored on their way to a 3-1 win.
February 1925 would have been tough on Blackburn Rovers, as in the previous round they had already been taken to two replays by Portsmouth, finally defeating them 1-0 at Ewood Park. Blackburn eventually lost 3-1 in the semi-final of the FA Cup to Cardiff, who in turn lost the final to Sheffield United, 1-0.
