Overview

A sense of deja-vu may have affected guests at the September wedding of Nettie Morris and Montefiore Seal for the synagogue, the hour (6pm), the location of the reception/dance (Connaught Rooms, Queen Street), and many of the attendees were the same as for the August wedding of Marie Cohen and Augustus Bass. Nettie was the niece of Harry Sherman (entrepreneur founder, with his brother Abraham, of Shermans Pools Ltd and owner of the bookmaking business Harry Sherman Ltd).

The Cathedral Road Synagogue, which became the Cardiff United Synagogue, was in use from 1897 until its closure in 1989.
