Walsall Trolleybuses
Walsall says "Goodbye" to the clean and spacious trolley buses and "Hello" to the 'dirty diesels' as the town modernises its public transport.

Overview
Reporter Lionel Hampden visits Walsall to ask drivers and passengers how they feel to be losing the popular trolley buses, which are being retired to make way for diesel powered buses.
Walsall was the final town in the Midlands to operate trolley buses, the much loved hybrid of tram and bus that ran on overhead electric wires. Trolley buses were favoured for their carrying capacity and almost silent running. An example from the Walsall fleet can still be seen in operation at the Black Country Living Museum at Dudley.
