Overview

Sue Jay talks to members of the St Patrick's tug-of-war team from Leicester who are preparing to compete in the sport's World Championships in Holland. Captain Colin Manton admits that the public haven't got a clue about the sport, thinking it involves a rope, big men and a pub. Despite its Heath Robinson appearance their training kit is a punishing test of strength and this, coupled with the sport's strictly enforced rules, goes to prove that tug-of-war is a serious affair.
