Overview

This film follows the fortunes of the TI Raleigh Campagnolo racing team, led by Peter Post, during the 1982 Tour of Romandie in Switzerland. The team's hopes centred on the rising Dutch star Rene Koppert, who is seen visiting Raleigh's special bike development unit at Ilkeston in Derbyshire as well as tackling punishing mountain stages.

The TI Raleigh racing team existed until the end of the 1983 season, with Joop Zoetemelk's win in the 1980 Tour de France being a high point. In a very tough sport, Rene Koppert never managed a major race win. Team manager Peter Post is classed as one of cycling's greatest names, with a career both as rider and team director.
