Overview

This record of life in the Northamptonshire town of Kettering was shot using the amateur 9.5mm format between 1945 and 1948 by C.W. Richards. A valuable snapshot of life, from the Home Guard enjoying a pint at the end of 'hostilities' to parading American service men. The war gradually recedes into memory as life returns to normal (apart from rationing) and culminates with fun and games at the first post-war carnival parade held in June 1948.
