Recollections of Our Summer Holiday at Babbacombe South Devon August 1931
Bowling along country lanes in the family's Austin motor car plus dancing on the beach: the delights of a holiday in Devon
Overview
After some shaky footage of Stonehenge this amateur holiday film moves along with a swing, bowling along some charming country lanes in the family motor car. There's also the opportunity for a spot of chorus line dancing on the beach - check out the natty swimming costumes.
This film makes stylish use of intertitles in identifying holiday highlights, which also include a visit to Buckfastleigh Abbey, a trip on the ferry across the River Dart from Kingswear to Dartmouth, Slapton Sands, Exeter Cathedral, Lidforth Gorge, Dartmoor Prison and Badger's Holt.
