Bobby Robson attends the match at Home Park where the score is tied at 2-2. Plymouth Argyle centre-forward Paul Mariner scores two goals for Plymouth Argyle. Paul Mariner under the guidance of Bobby Robson, moved to Ipswich Town FC in 1976, and later went on to join the national England team during the 1980 European Championships.

Sir Robert ‘Bobby’ Robson was an England footballer and manager who played inside-forward for Fulham, West Bromwich Albion and the Vancouver Royals. Robson managed Ipswich, Barcelona, Fulham and Newcastle Untied. Robson was also part of the England team from 1957 to 1962. Robson managed England from 1980 until 1990 and is only the second manager after Alf Ramsey to take England to a World Cup semi-final in the 1990 World Cup and the only coach to do so on foreign soil. The ‘Sir Bobby Robson Foundation’ for cancer research was set up in 2008 when Robson’s lung cancer was declared terminal.
