Overview

The British Raj held three imperial Durbars - great ceremonial gatherings - in Delhi. The last was held on 12 December 1911 to mark the coronation of King George V and cost over £1 million.

This film, shot for the Ealing-based (Will) Barker company, was one of a number made of the proceedings by different companies from different positions, thanks to which we have an unusually detailed record.
