Overview

Sidney Mann ran the family's music shop business in Colchester High Street. At any opportunity, the Manns and extended family would travel the 20 miles to spend a day by the sea at 'Lazidais' the family beach hut. This film of their fun and frolics is a compilation of outings in one year which most probably would have been shown as part of their Christmas entertainment.

It seems their days were far from lazy! With an action packed agenda of skipping, leapfrog, dancing, swimming and posing for the camera, the Mann family made the most of their downtime - with even Gran having a go on a Yo-Yo. 3 generations feature in this film with Sidney also featuring in front of the camera alongside his siblings, his wife Joan and paternal and maternal grandmothers Harriet and Ada Davies. Mann's Music Shop is still running today in Colchester.
