Overview

A look at the wide range of activities undertaken by young children when their parents have dropped them off at the Howard St Nursery in Burnley. From outdoor play on climbing frames to music and dance indoors, there is always plenty to do. Children also drink milk, eat snacks and enjoy lunch, while some have fun out in the rain, in wellington boots and sou'westers.

Mary Corner was headmistress of Howard St Nursery School for many years, and had great experience of working with children in pre-school situations. She was a highly skilled filmmaker, a member of Burnley Cine Club, and her films provide an excellent lasting record of the early education of Burnley children.
