Overview

1951's Festival of Britain gave Norwich an opportunity to show the country and the world its delights as a 'fine city'. What's more, during its Festival fortnight, H.R.H. Princess Elizabeth, just two years before her Coronation, visits the Norfolk capital. Pageantry is not spared, with bunting decorating every inch of the Market Place; a true celebratory spectacle, with Norwich citizens wearing their finest befitting such an occasion.
