Overview

Dorothy Hyman, sprinter and miner's daughter from Barnsley, returns from the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome with two medals: silver in the 200m and bronze in the 300m. In her day job, she works as a tracer for the National Coal Board at the Area Headquarters at Ardsley Hall. After the excitement and romance of her Olympian adventures, she loyally declares that "it'll be a nice change to get back to work".
