Overview

This fascinating film shows scenes of celebration in 1930s Woolwich. The activities include games and sports, a fete with speeches by the Mayor and other diginitaries, parades with a variety of vehicles, bicycles and people decorated in imaginative costumes and the 'Coronation' of a local queen to preside over the numerous events. Watch out for the float which makes a wry comment about pot-holes in the road and the Kerwin Players performing scenes from 'Twelfth Night'.
