Overview

This film opens with views of Hythe covered in ceremonial bunting as well as capturing a lot of street furniture that has long since vanished from the modern-day urban environment. The film goes on to show children at a large table, racing each other in a park and parading in a variety of imaginative period costumes.

The filmmaker, Councillor Colonel F. F. C. Cooke, was Lord Mayor of Hythe from 1957 to 1958.
