Overview
For the people of Wisbech, Thursday 2nd June 1932 was a very memorable day. Schools and businesses had time out to crowd the streets to greet the son of their King George V visiting the "capital of the Fens" prior to heading to the Agricultural Show at Ely. This local newsreel is quite faded but still conveys the excitement of the ceremony and shows people clambering to see their Prince. Newspapers reported the Mayor struggled to be heard above the cheers of the crowds.
