Enchanting Bournemouth
Bournemouth looks its gorgeous best in this sumptuously colourful promotional film from 1961.

Overview
This promotional film shows almost everything that Bournemouth had to offer the holidaymakers of 1961. Whether arriving by air or on bicycles, the town, clearly competing with increasingly cheap foreign holidays, offered the visitor a wide variety of sports and pastimes, steamer trips along the Dorset coastline and fine dining at the Pavillion. Bournemouth's shopping district and musical entertainments are also displayed as are its seaside illuminations.
