Day on the Broads
With their gramophone perched on the back of their launch, the Jenkins family set off for a day of rest and relaxation on the Broads and Suffolk coast.

Overview
In 1929 the Jenkins family enjoy a day out on the Norfolk Broads. Equipped with their picnic basket and on-board gramophone, the family have lunch, feed the ducks and go sailing past scenic greenery, chalets and windmills. Following a trip to Southwold beach, the quintessentially English outing concludes with a windswept tea party on the river bank, and time spent relaxing in a tranquil riverside garden with the family dogs.
The Jenkins family were well known in Southwold as a family of photographers and film makers. Throughout the 1920s Barrett Jenkins could be seen filming many events around the local area, and his nephew - Ford Jenkins - seems to have followed in his footsteps with this scenic depiction of his family's trip.
