Overview

A great turnout by the people of Colchester as they gather together for the Queen’s Silver Jubilee festivities. Of course, many English villages, towns, and cities celebrated the 25th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne with street parties and games. Essex play their part with a street carnival, traditional folk plays and dancing – the ‘Chalfont Mummers’ put on a performance, as do the Morris Men who dance for the crowds.
