Coi: Seat Belts - Human Cannonball

A circus act – of sorts – combines with gallows humour in a shatteringly effective reminder to "clunk, click" even on the shortest trip.

Overview

A shocking and eerie demonstration of why belting up saves lives. The deadly impact of being thrown through a car windscreen is compared to a man being fired from a giant silver cannon in this brilliantly effective contribution to the 1970s seatbelt campaign.

Best known for its onomatopoeic slogan "Clunk, Click Every Trip" and for its association with radio and TV presenter Jimmy Savile, the seatbelt safety campaign was first brought to the nation's attention in a series of black and white films featuring Shaw Taylor, the face of Police Five, ITV's long-running 5-minute crime programme.
