Overview

Anyone can enjoy a Norfolk Broads boating holiday after initial training in the workings of the boat and the rules of the waterway. Besides the Broads, attractions include Ranworth church, Great Witchingham Wildlife Park and the seaside beaches. On cruisers and yachts, families explore and relax, rustling up a roast chicken with a bottle of Mateus Rosé in their own kitchen, or visiting the waterside pubs. Bird song and lapping water conjure up a stress-free holiday.

Holiday company Blakes Limited produced an annual catalogue of their Broads hire boats entitled 'Norfolk Broads Holidays Afloat', listing their films on free loan for home screening or community audiences. The films featured the key locations around the Norfolk Broads, Potter Heigham boatyard, Roys shop and the bridge at Wroxham, St Benet's Abbey, Caister Castle, windmills and pubs, the churches at Ranworth and South Walsham, open water at Oulton Broad, and nearby Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
