Kristallnacht: the world responds

Non-Fiction 1938 2 mins Silent

Overview

The 'night of broken glass’ (9–10 November 1938) had seen hundreds of synagogues torched, thousands of Jews rounded up, headed for concentration camps, and some 90 murdered. Among other things, it was a turning point for international views of the Nazi regime. This newsreel production footage (shot for an edition of British Paramount News) covers some of the initial reaction outside Germany, including in Britain.
