Overview

A dark psychosexual thriller from the mind of prodigious French-Canadian director Xavier Dolan. Following the untimely death of his boyfriend, a young advertising copywriter called Tom travels to Quebec for the funeral where he is greeted with hostility by the family. Slowly realising that the romantic nature of their relationship had been kept a secret, Tom finds himself involved in a dangerous game of deception.

Described by critics as Hitchcockian despite the fact that 25-year-old Dolan claims never to have seen a Hitchcock film, Tom at the Farm is an intriguing and surprising thriller that gripped audiences at the 2013 BFI London Film Festival.
