Overview
A young man, Lalit Ghosh, decides to come out to his parents. Seeking acceptance, he cooks his father’s favourite dish, the traditional fish curry (Maacher Jhol), learning the recipe from a famous radio cookery show. Lalit prepares the dish with care, serves his father the delicious fish curry and confronts his sexuality over the dinner table.
Maacher Jhol - The Fish Curry is presented as part of Too Desi Too Queer, a selection of LGBTIQ+ short films curated by Bagri Foundation London Indian Film Festival.
