Interesting Incidents

Brace yourself for some unusual and sometimes disturbing sights from round the world

1916 8 mins Silent

Overview

The bizarre and unusual sights of the world have lost none of their power to amaze. These snippets show Finns cutting ice and playing ice hockey, Bedouin fakirs in Algeria, sword-swallowing and fire-eating. From India we see a Hindu funeral pyre, and from Canada shooting rapids on a raft. The items were packaged by Charles Urban’s Kineto brand, an early magazine format comprised of short items sent in from cameramen around the world.
